Located in Mississauga by Kennedy Rd and Courtney Park Dr E, you will find one of the greatest fusion fantasies to take hold in Mississauga.
Rick’s Good Eats is owned by legendary chef Rick Matharu, and is supported by his very own mother Manjeet for inspiration and day-to-day operations. What separates RGE from most restaurants is their dedication to quality comfort food, and bringing out flavors the most Canadian cuisine does not have.
I have visited RGE on numerous occasions as I used to work right down the street from them. Every time the quality and taste is always there, and their staff is always kind and gracious.
My highlights from their menu are their Butter Chicken Mac N’ Cheese (with their amazing Achari Coleslaw!!), Shahi Paneer Naanwich and Mom’s Biryani. I’ve recently come to learn that Mom’s Biryani isn’t on their menu anymore, so today is a sad day. However their Butter Chicken Mac N’ Cheese is still my absolute favorite dish, its scream comfort food in all the best ways. To make it even better they top it off with their Achari Coleslaw that adds that nice cool and crunchy twist to this warm and savory dish. The Shahi Paneer Naanwich is go-to when I’m not feeling it for a heavy pasta/butter chicken dish. It’s a great veggie meal filled with cheese, tomato, onion, cilantro, achari mayo and sambal oelek.
I think what I love most about Rick’s Good Eats is that I can take the most hesitant eater out to here and convince them to try something new. I can take my boyfriend’s buddy out here who would be so wary of Butter Chicken due to his unwarranted fear of anything seasoned well- and convince him to get the Mac N’ Cheese because ‘it’s just Mac n’ Cheese!’. I think we’ve all had friends who were picky/skittish eaters, and always consider RGE to be the ‘gateway drug’ to get them into new cuisines, flavors and cultures.
A big thanks to Rick Matharu and Rick’s Good Eats for making all the good food that you do 😊
